Outdoor Life Network - aired a show by
Outside Magazine on the top 10 Adventures. Western
Spirit's White Rim trip was one of the top ten with
footage of our trip. .

The
White Rim - is a classic mountain bike
ride. There are folks who come to do it year after
year. The route is a remote four-wheel drive road
through Canyonlands National park where you are
surrounded by 1,000 foot cliffs above you and 1,000
foot cliffs to the river below you. We are bound
by the Colorado and Green Rivers which have etched
away at the rock strata leaving this spectacular
display of geology. The "white rim" is
a particularly hard layer of white sandstone which
has remained intact while the layers above and below
are eroded away by nature. This leaves a bench strategically
placed in this wonderland on which we can ride our
bikes. There are several hill climbs on the white
rim which will challenge the strongest riders (extra
brownies for the accomplished), but they are short
enough that if you choose to walk it's no problem
and you'll have lots of company doing so! The camp
sites are primitive and provide vistas ever changing
in the evening light. Relaxing with a cold beverage
while your guides prepare a backcountry gourmet
meal will make you feel oh so immersed in vacation.
